Project Intro: DriftDivision

DriftDivision EPDriftDivision is the end of silence brought on by Matchbook Romance’s departure from the music scene.  It is the heart and soul of Poughkeepsie, NY’s Andrew Jordan with help from Jerk Magnet/Anadivine’s Justin Meyer as well as The Getaway/MBR’s Ryan Kienle.

The debut self-titled EP was self-released October 26th, 2010  and can be heard/purchased at bandcamp.  The 6 songs were written while Andrew Jordan took 3 years off to “live a normal life” as a waiter in “The only town in Pennsylvania.”  Ryan Kienle helped out with the music on “Leave The Ground,” “Don’t Lose Your Love,” and “The End” (which some believe answers questions left by Matchbook Romance’s seemingly sudden break-up after a decade of touring the country).

Andrew recorded his own guitar in Bloomsburg, PA.  Justin’s drums and Ryan’s bass were recorded by John Naclerio at Nada Recording in New Windsor, NY.  The EP was produced and mixed by John Goodmanson (who has previously worked with Jaguar Love, Owl City, Aiden, Death Cab For Cutie, Nada Surf, The Blood Brothers, Matchbook Romance, Simple Plan, Blonde Redhead, Lucky Boys Confusion, Hanson, Blondie, h?d p.e., Wu-Tang Clan, Saliva, Harvey Danger) in Seattle, Washington.  Troy Glessner at Spectre Mastering in Seattle mastered the EP.

The beautiful artwork on the cover is Nathan Miner’s “Fire Storm” and DriftDivision’s logo was designed by Digital Splash Creative Group.

By the way, 2 other members from Jerk Magnet/Anadivine are rockin’ in Nightmares For A Week.  The drummer from The Getaway/Matchbook Romance never really stopped playing.  He performed with God Or Julie and You, Me, and Everyone We Know.  Most recently, Aaron Stern has been collaborating with ex-Chiodos vocalist, Craig Owens in the project D.R.U.G.S. (which stands for, “Destroy Rebuild Until God Shows” – not to be confused with Drugs: This Mis-Americans…  which is Clip Payne’s collaboration with Chicken Burke, Adam Widoff, Joey Eppard, Jeremy Bernstein, Stephanie McKay, Lige Curry and recently deceased Rock & Roll Hall of Famer- Garry “Starchild” Shider).
